Karagita Public Beach is Lake Naivasha's busy public lakeshore and a practical starting point for guided boat safaris. Fishing boats, food stalls and local operators share the shore, while trips onto the freshwater lake offer a chance to watch hippos, African fish eagles and other waterbirds from a respectful distance.
Lake Oloiden
Lake Oloiden is the smaller lake southwest of Lake Naivasha, a quieter water-and-acacia landscape whose changing chemistry can attract lesser and greater flamingos. The birds are seasonal rather than guaranteed, making every visit a lesson in how mobile wildlife responds to rainfall, lake levels and food.
Mount Longonot National Park
Mount Longonot rises abruptly from Kenya's Great Rift Valley, its steep flanks cut by V-shaped valleys and ridges around a broad crater filled with dense forest. The park is explored on foot: a demanding climb reaches the crater rim, where hikers can look across the volcanic landscape toward Lake Naivasha and continue around the rim if time, weather and fitness allow.
