Why safari here?

It connects Kruger's better-known visitor network with Mozambique's sandy plains, river systems, reservoir edge, and community landscape.

Wildlife & landscape

Mopane and wooded savanna, sandy plains, riverine areas, and alluvial landscapes support elephants, buffalo, antelope, predators, and birdlife.

When to go

April to October is cooler and generally easier for access. Rain can change track conditions quickly in the warmer months.

Gateway & getting there

The mapped stage follows the designated Giriyondo-Massingir track. Most other park roads require high clearance or four-wheel drive, and navigation information should be current.

Typical visit

At least one overnight is required for the Giriyondo crossing; more time is needed to understand the park beyond a transit day.
