It prevents Lake Mburo from appearing as an isolated dot and anchors the circuit in the established western Uganda road network.
Road and gate conditions should be checked, especially during wet periods.
The route reaches Mbarara from Buhoma, reuses the existing Entebbe–Mbarara road to the Nshara junction, then branches to Rwonyo.
