Journey

The Road to Nanyuki

Nanyuki does not begin when you reach town. The journey starts as Nairobi falls behind and the A2 carries you north through the Central Highlands. Towns give way to farms and broad country. Somewhere beyond Karatina, Mt. Kenya begins to announce itself on the horizon. Continue north through Naro Moru, cross the Equator, and the road finally delivers you to Nanyuki — a highland town beneath Africa’s second-highest mountain and a gateway to the country beyond.
