Serenje is the practical road gateway. Access turns from the Great North Road onto the Samfya road and continues to the park's entrance.
Best time: Dry-season wildlife viewing is generally strongest from May to October. Wet-season birding builds from November, while the fruit-bat gathering is concentrated around October to December, especially November and December.
