The mapped Journey follows the A2 north from Nanyuki through Timau to Lewa's headquarters area. Actual entry and onward movement must be coordinated in advance with your accommodation or authorized provider; Lewa restricts which vehicles may operate inside the conservancy.

Best time: Plan around the itinerary supplied by your accommodation or authorized provider. Seasonal weather affects wildlife movement and road conditions, and an overnight stay is often more appropriate than trying to fit Lewa into an unarranged day trip.
